To celebrate a milestone birthday, we were briefed to create a relaxed occasion for close family and friends. Guests were treated to an Opera interlude held under a stretch marquee in the grounds of the client’s home, while Stuarts’ staff provided buckets of Champagne, seasonal canapés and cosy pashminas – a hint of luxury on a late summer’s evening.
Dinner was served inside the family barn at long dining tables styled with crisp white linens and colourful florals. The menu included olive and herb focaccia and crisp breads, sharing platters of bresaola, serrano, manchego, figs and crispy calamari; pan-fried breast of chicken. piedamontes pepper, spinach and dauphinoise; and saffron-poached pear, lime and yoghurt mousse and ginger-nut crumble.
Once dinner was complete, guests gathered around the pool while sipping on calypso coffees and hot shots of apple and calvados, cranberry, apple and cinnamon, before enjoying a fireworks display provided by Michael Lakin.
